At Seashore Fiberglass, our commitment to quality begins with the meticulous construction of our fiberglass decks. We commence the process with the installation of 1/2” AC Aruco plywood, securing it with glue and screws at 8” intervals to minimize the risk of cracking joints and nail pops.
To enhance durability and aesthetics, shop-routed Azek trim boards adorn the outer edge of the fiberglass deck, complemented by chamfer strips along interior walls. Following the plywood installation, the entire surface undergoes a comprehensive treatment, including sanding and polyester putty filling for joints and screw holes.
To establish a robust bond with the AC plywood substrate, a primer coat of polyester resin is meticulously applied. After curing, the surface is further refined through sanding before Owens Corning 2 OZ fiberglass chopped strand mat is precisely positioned, ensuring seamless integration. Feathering of all seams minimizes visible overlaps, while attention to detail extends to running fiberglass 8” up interior walls and employing fiberglass pan flashing for door openings.

A secondary resin saturation coat, applied using the hand layup method, reinforces the structure. Post-cure, the fiberglass deck undergoes precision trimming, sanding, and finally, a coating of colored non-slip gelcoat for both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
